LOLA & KATE

Anna & Martine , friends and founders of LOLA & KATE cabinet of curiosity. LOLA & KATE are synonyms for the names of the founders. Both had beautiful prints and photographs as wall decorations before stepping into this adventure. Anna’s most favorite image is “Lola”, a photo made by Billy und Hells while Martina has a life-size picture of Kate. Hence the name LOLA & KATE – connecting a passion for wall decorations with their favorite images. LOLA & KATE feathers in a frame Inspired by the recurring trend of framed butterflies, beetles and other insects, they came up with the idea of framing beautiful feathers from different kind of birds. What makes this project even more beautiful is that it’s very animal-friendly, meaning that all birds lost their feathers naturally.

Tail feathers of a Pheasant, wing feathers of an Argus or Peacock enclosed between glass framed in a sturdy iron frame made by LOLA & KATE is definitely one of my favorite wall decoration of this moment. I can’t wait to order one… By the way, all products are handmade and therefore unique and that’s what it is…

A little flashback

A little flashback in pictures I made when visiting Sissy-Boy’s Summer Market last Saturday. The enjoyment started when we walked through the gates of “het Vondelpark”. A lot of memories from the past came up to us. Both, spent a lot of time there when we were younger…SB_summermarket_0115 minutes after opening, a lot of vintage stuff has been sold already. We became slightly nervous about that… Anyway we had a lovely time there. We gathered many ideas and got lots of inspiration, so mission completed.

I would love to ride this bicycle…

When Dutch need to buy a new bike, they mainly choose a practical and reliable one. A bicycle that’s strong enough to carry at least two children and bicycle bags overloaded with daily groceries. Now both my kids ride their own bike and I still ride a transporter like I described… of course the ideal bike and very useful, but I love to exchange it for a real Martone by Martone cycling Co.

Martone_bikes_01Mortone’s collection comes in five colors: silver, white, gold, red and black. Available in two different frame sizes for men and one size fits all for woman. All of Martone’s bikes no matter what color you ordered are featured with a red chain. Bikes can be ordered at martonecycling.eu

l’Etoile concept store

A dream came true, these were the exact words from Elisabeth Borger while opening her new store located in fabulous Schoorl – the Netherlands. In presence of her beloved family and many friends, it was daughter Merel who had the honor to officially open her mothers concept store l’Etoile.

l’Etoile stands for pure products with a sentimental value, made with respect for craftsmanship – products that last many seasons. I had the privilege of being invited for the grand opening so I could witness with my very own eyes that everything Elisabeth said is true.

l'Etoilel’Etoile suits me, that is for sure… It’s a beautiful, light and bright store decorated with natural materials and colors reflected in all the products Elisabeth sells. Elisabeth’s taste of brands is absolutely gorgeous. A number of brands she sells are: SUKHA ATELIER | OTTOMANIA | HOUSE DOCTOR | WONKI WARE | CAMPOMAGGI and many more…

So, if you’re searching for a new rug, ceramics, baskets, hamman towels, jewelry, stationary or something else to pamper yourself, you now know where to go! l’Etoile conceptstore, Duinweg 7 – Schoorl or check their website for more information.

★ Dear Elisabeth, I do wish you lot’s of success and happiness with your dream that became reality, Karin XXX
